Workshop Description:
Have you seen someone transition from RN to MD? Do you know what steps it takes to transition from RN to MD? How about being a single mother and managing medical school? Or residency?
Then you should come and meet Dr. Kazanjian who has gone from nursing to post-bacc at community college, medical school, and now residency in Orthopedic Surgery. Come and hear her story and ask her questions.
About the Speaker:
Ani Kazanjian obtained her bachelor’s in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University before serving in the Army as trauma and perioperative nurse. Her work with patients motivated her to attend medical school where she obtained her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She also has a passion for public health and while in medical school, she pursued a Masters’s in Public Health at the University of Michigan, with specializations in epidemiology and healthcare finance.
She is currently finishing up her second year as an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. When she’s not reducing fractures, she enjoys hot yoga, anything involving the great outdoors, and hanging out with her son, Sebastian, and their dog, Ginger.
