Blair Douglass, JD, Administrator
Physician Scientist Training Program
University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
Wednesday, August 5, 2026
4pm-5:30pm PST
Workshop Description:
For students who are curious about combining patient care with research, discovery, and innovation, this workshop offers a clear look at the physician-scientist pathway. Designed for community college and university premed students, this student-centered and inspirational session will introduce the University of Pittsburgh’s Physician Scientist Training Program and explain how research-driven medical training can prepare future physicians to ask meaningful questions, study complex diseases, and help move science from the laboratory to the bedside. Blair Douglass, JD, Administrator of the Physician Scientist Training Program, will share insight into what the program is, who it is designed for, and how students can begin preparing now through academics, research experience, mentorship, curiosity, and long-term commitment. You can come, ask your questions, and get answers in a supportive environment focused on helping you understand whether this path fits your goals. Most importantly, come hear directly from the source instead of second-hand or bad information or people who have no clue about the admission process. Leave with clearer direction, stronger motivation, and practical next steps.
