Workshop Description:
For community college and university premedical students looking to gain meaningful experience beyond the classroom, this workshop introduces a powerful opportunity to explore healthcare through paid summer internships, mentorship, and professional networking. Jeff Oxendine, MPH, MBA, Founder, President, and CEO of Health Career Connection and Professor of Public Health at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, will share how students can build practical skills, strengthen their professional confidence, and connect with people who can help shape their future in healthcare. Participants will learn how real-world experience can clarify career goals, strengthen future applications, and open doors to opportunities they may not have considered possible. Come, ask your questions, and get answers from someone with direct experience helping students enter healthcare careers. Hear directly from the source instead of relying on secondhand information, bad advice, or people who have no clue about the application process. No matter where you begin, one summer experience can expand your network, strengthen your purpose, and move you closer to a career in healthcare, medicine, and public health.
