Workshop Description:
Parents and families can play an important role in helping premedical students navigate the challenges, decisions, and opportunities that shape the journey toward medical school. This interactive workshop welcomes community college and university premed students, parents, guardians, and supporters for an open conversation with Rachel Grubbs, Founder and Advisor at Polaris Results. Participants will gain practical insight into how families can encourage academic growth, support healthy decision making, understand the medical school application process, and help students remain focused without adding unnecessary pressure. The session will also address common concerns surrounding coursework, extracurricular activities, timelines, application preparation, and the emotional realities of pursuing medicine. Come, ask your questions, and get answers in a welcoming environment designed around student success. Hear directly from an experienced source instead of relying on second hand information, bad advice, or people who have no clue about the admissions process. Every premed journey is different, and informed support can help students move forward with confidence, resilience, purpose, and belief in their white coat dreams while staying true to their individual goals.

About the Speaker:
Rachel Grubbs is an independent higher education advisor, writing coach, and essay editor, specializing in admissions to medical school and other health professional schools. If you’re a premed, you may recognize Rachel as a co-founder of Mappd, the free platform for premed planning.
Rachel has over 20 years of experience helping students navigate their paths through and to higher education. She has advised students through The Princeton Review, Next Step Test Prep (now Blueprint MCAT), and Mappd/Medical School Headquarters. She now works with students independently as Founder and Advisor at Polaris Results.
Rachel is available to help students with any part of the application process: personal statements, experience essays, other primary application essays, supplemental and secondary essays, preparing for interviews, and navigating waitlists and acceptances. Rachel also assists with students in the earlier years of premed process, including course selection and experience planning.
