Workshop Description:
Are you interested in surgery, leadership, or what it takes to break barriers in the field of medicine? Join us for a powerful and inspiring workshop with Dr. Steven Williams, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the first African American president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Williams will share his journey from Dartmouth and Yale to the operating room and leadership at the national level. He will discuss the importance of representation in medicine, the role of diversity and inclusion in healthcare, and how future physicians can lead with purpose and compassion.
This is your chance to hear directly from a groundbreaking leader in medicine—not from second-hand sources or people unfamiliar with the path, but from someone who has lived it. Come ask your questions and get real answers about medical school, surgery, leadership, and how to use your unique background as a strength. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or already preparing your application, this event will inspire and empower you to pursue medicine with confidence and intention.
