About the Speaker:
Rob Cloutier, MD, MCR, is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics and Dean for UME Admissions at the OHSU School of Medicine. I have been involved with OHSU admissions for 20 years at all levels, from interviewer to application screener, committee member, and chair, as well as Dean of UME Admissions since 2017. The holistic process at OHSU SOM dates back to the late 1990s and is well established in the OHSU SOM’s culture. Our committee structure and approaches emphasize applicants’ non-cognitive strengths to build unique and diverse medical learning communities. He believes in continually improving the admissions process to reflect the unique challenges the future physician workforce will face.
