Rachel Grubbs
Founder, Advisor
Polaris Results
Friday October 24, 2025
5pm-6:30pm PST
Workshop Description:
Starting pre-med can feel overwhelming—courses, activities, MCAT, timelines—but you don’t have to guess. In this live online session, advisor and writing coach Rachel Grubbs (founder of Polaris Results and co-founder of Mappd) will lay out a clear, semester-by-semester strategy for community college and university students. Learn how to sequence prerequisites, choose impactful clinical and service experiences, track hours effectively, and build study habits that make the MCAT easier when the time comes. We’ll turn vague goals into an action plan, including reflection practices that power authentic personal statements, activity essays, and secondaries. Rachel will highlight common pitfalls—following bad Reddit advice, chasing prestige over purpose, waiting too long to seek feedback—and show you how to course-correct early. You can come, ask your questions and get answers that fit your situation. Most importantly, come hear directly from the source instead of second-hand or bad information or people that have no clue about the admission process. Leave with a realistic roadmap, simple tools to stay organized, and the confidence to start strong on day one and be resilient.
About the Speaker:
Rachel Grubbs is an independent higher education advisor, writing coach, and essay editor, specializing in admissions to medical school and other health professional schools. If you’re a premed, you may recognize Rachel as a co-founder of Mappd, the free platform for premed planning.
Rachel has over 20 years of experience helping students navigate their paths through and to higher education. She has advised students through The Princeton Review, Next Step Test Prep (now Blueprint MCAT), and Mappd/Medical School Headquarters. She now works with students independently as Founder and Advisor at Polaris Results.
Rachel is available to help students with any part of the application process: personal statements, experience essays, other primary application essays, supplemental and secondary essays, preparing for interviews, and navigating waitlists and acceptances. Rachel also assists with students in the earlier years of the premed process, including course selection and experience planning.
