Shalim Torres
Admissions Counselor and Recruiter
UAG School of Medicine International Program
Friday October 17, 2025
5pm-6:30pm PST
Workshop Description:
Curious about earning your MD internationally and returning to practice in the U.S.? Join an inside look at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) School of Medicine International Program with Shalim Torres, an admissions counselor and recruiter who works directly with applicants. Designed for community college, university, and post-bacc students, this session breaks down eligibility and prerequisites, the application and interview timeline, GPA/MCAT expectations, visas and logistics, curriculum structure, language preparation, clinical training opportunities, and how students plan for USMLE, ECFMG certification, and the residency match. You’ll also hear about student support, advising, and financial considerations so you can weigh the fit with your goals. Come prepared to ask your questions and get clear answers about studying medicine in Mexico while staying aligned with U.S. licensure pathways. Most importantly, come hear directly from the source instead of relying on second-hand opinions, rumors, or people who have no knowledge of the admissions process. Whether you’re just exploring or gearing up to apply, you’ll leave with a realistic roadmap and the confidence to take your next step.
