Workshop Description:
Do you feel you don’t have enough time to participate in Extracurricular Activities? Do you feel like you can’t keep up with the demands of being a premed student? Do you fear you won’t be able to keep up with your studies and activities? Do you miss your hobbies? Family time? Time with friends?
Then you must attend this session and learn from Leo, a first-year Medical Student at UCSD School of medicine, who will share his tips for success that enabled him to graduate with high honors, conduct research and get published, do extracurricular activities, gain clinical experience, and pursue his hobbies and athletic endeavors all while being premed and getting into medical school.
About the Speaker:
Leo Meller is a first-year medical student at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Leo is a graduate of UC Irvine, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in Human Biology, graduated from the Campuswide Honors Collegium with Latin Honors, and was inducted to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Leo is passionate about research and has co-authored many publications, presented his research at national and international meetings and received grant funding for his work. His research experience includes basic science dermatology, medical education, undergraduate biology education, emergency medicine, otolaryngology, cardiology, and ultrasound medicine. Leo enjoys being outdoors in his free time and says, “There are no problems a good climbing and hiking session can’t fix.”
