Workshop Description:
Applying through AMCAS can feel intimidating, especially when every section seems high-stakes and the internet is full of conflicting advice. This student-centered and inspirational workshop is designed for community college and university premed students who want a practical, honest walk-through of the AMCAS application from someone who navigated it successfully at the highest level. Lucia Rivera, President of PreMedCC, is a rising medical student in the Class of 2030 who earned acceptance to 10 Top 20 medical schools. Drawing from her own experience, Lucia will break down how to approach the personal statement, work and activities section, most meaningful experiences, school list strategy, and the art of presenting your story with clarity, purpose, and authenticity. She will also share lessons learned, common mistakes to avoid, and what helped her stand out in a highly competitive process. You can come, ask your questions and get answers in a supportive environment focused on reducing confusion and building confidence. Most importantly, come hear directly from the source instead of second-hand or bad information or people who have no clue about the admission process.
