Then you should come and meet Kiarash, who started at Community College and is currently a 4th Year PhD student at Stanford School of Medicine. Come to hear about his journey and ask him questions.
About the Speaker:
Kiarash is a 4th-year Cancer Biology PhD candidate at Stanford University School of Medicine. He grew up in Iran where he finished high school and moved to San Jose, California in 2012. Kiarash attended West Valley Community College majoring in Biology and Chemistry before transferring to UC Berkeley to receive a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology and a minor in Education. For his undergraduate honors thesis work on Toll-like receptors expression patterns, he received the department’s Award in Cell & Developmental Biology. Kiarash spent two years studying the neural basis of perception at UC Berkeley as a research associate before starting his PhD at Stanford in 2019 where he is now studying neuron-glioma interactions at the circuit level.
