Workshop Description:
Summer research can open doors to mentorship, discovery, graduate pathways, medical school preparation, and a stronger sense of purpose in medicine. This student-centered and inspirational workshop is designed for community college and university premed students who want to find research programs, REU opportunities, internships, fellowships, and funded summer experiences that match their goals. Tiffany Shaleen Reardon, Founder of REUFinder.com, will share practical strategies for searching programs, understanding eligibility, organizing deadlines, preparing application materials, requesting letters, and identifying opportunities that welcome transfer, first-generation, and community college students. Students will also learn how research experience can strengthen academic growth, scientific confidence, personal statements, and future medical school applications. You can come, ask your questions and get answers in a supportive environment focused on clarity, access, and real next steps. Most importantly, come hear directly from the source instead of second-hand or bad information or people who have no clue about the admission process. Leave motivated, organized, and ready to pursue summer research opportunities with confidence. This session will help you move from searching to applying with strategy.
