Workshop Description:
Community college and university premed students often have access to powerful resources, but many never learn how to find them, use them, or turn them into real momentum toward medicine. This student-centered and inspirational workshop will help students identify academic support, transfer advising, mentorship, scholarships, research pathways, leadership programs, enrichment opportunities, and campus networks that can strengthen both confidence and long-term preparation. Tiffany Shaleen Reardon, Director of the UC Berkeley Transfer Alliance Project, will share practical guidance on navigating community college systems, asking better questions, building relationships with counselors and faculty, and connecting resource use to transfer success and medical school readiness. You can come, ask your questions and get answers in a supportive environment designed to reduce confusion and increase direction. Most importantly, come hear directly from the source instead of second-hand or bad information or people who have no clue about the admission process. Leave with a clearer plan, stronger self-advocacy skills, and concrete next steps for finding, using, and maximizing the resources already around you throughout your community college and transfer journey.
