Workshop Description:
Applying to medical school is not just about grades and test scores—it is about building a mission-driven path that reflects your values, your growth, and your commitment to serving others. This workshop is designed for community college and university premed students who want a clearer understanding of how to become a strong, competitive applicant for the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Kevin G. Phung, MD, EdD, Associate Dean of Admissions and Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medical Education, will share insight into what makes an application stand out, including academic preparation, service, leadership, clinical experiences, resilience, and alignment with a school’s mission. He will also discuss how to present your story with authenticity, purpose, and professionalism across your application materials and interviews. You can come, ask your questions and get answers in a supportive, student-centered environment designed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. Most importantly, come hear directly from the source instead of second-hand or bad information or people who have no clue about the admission process. Leave inspired, informed, and better prepared to shape your future in medicine.
