Workshop Description:
Sorting real admissions guidance from internet noise can be exhausting, especially when the loudest advice is second-hand, outdated, or coming from people who have no clue how the medical school admissions process actually works. This workshop is designed for community college and university premed students who want a clear, accurate view of osteopathic medicine and what it takes to become a competitive applicant. Natalie Davis, MAT, Director of Admissions at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, will explain how applicants are evaluated, what makes experiences meaningful (not just “listed”), and how to align your preparation with a school’s mission and expectations. You will learn practical ways to strengthen your academic readiness, service, clinical exposure, leadership, and personal narrative, with an emphasis on professionalism and authenticity. Most importantly, you can come, ask your questions, and get answers directly from the source, in real time, in a supportive environment. Leave with fewer myths, more confidence, and concrete next steps you can apply immediately to your premed plan and upcoming application cycle.
About the Speaker:
Natalie Davis, MA, serves as the Director of Admissions for Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, overseeing admissions operations for the College’s New Mexico and Florida campuses. She also serves as the current Chair of the Council of Osteopathic Medical Admissions Officers for the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, fostering collaboration among admissions leaders nationwide. With over a decade of experience spanning K–12 and higher education, Natalie is deeply committed to expanding access to high-quality educational opportunities and advancing equitable pathways to professional education.
