Join Tiffany Reardon, the Founder of REUFinder.com and Associate Director for Engineering Excellence Programs at UC Berkeley College of Engineering, for an enriching workshop designed to empower community college premed students. “From Community College to the Lab” provides a comprehensive roadmap to uncover and leverage research opportunities that align with your medical aspirations. Drawing on her expertise, Ms. Reardon will reveal hidden avenues to research opportunities, provide guidance on creating effective applications, and share essential networking strategies. This workshop aims to bridge the gap between community college and advanced research environments, offering participants the tools to engage with groundbreaking work in the field of medicine. Whether you are just beginning to explore research or seeking to expand your experience, this workshop will be a valuable stepping stone toward your future success in medicine.
About the Speaker:
For years, Tiffany Reardon has been working to change the face of STEM. She began her work at Skyline Community College where she worked as the Director of the Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement Program. After successfully establishing Skyline’s MESA program, she accepted a position as the Assistant Director of Programs for MESA Statewide at the University of California’s Office of the President, working with nearly 70 community colleges and university MESA programs. In 2012, she joined UC’s flagship campus by accepting a position at UC Berkeley in the College of Engineering. At Berkeley, she established Berkeley’s Award Winning Transfer Pre-Engineering Program (T-PREP). Throughout her career Tiffany has helped hundreds of students successfully transfer to top-tier universities, prepare for graduate school, and gain prestigious research fellowships. In 2018, she launched REUFinder.com, a blog aimed at exposing non-traditional students to paid research opportunities.
