Workshop Description:
Do you want to start the semester off on the right foot? Is studying for science classes challenging? Are you struggling with studying on your own? Do you think you can improve your study skills and be successful in your classes if only you had some instructions? Are you nervous about transferring from Community College to the University of California? Are you nervous about studying for the MCAT?
Then you must attend this workshop led by Madeleine Babb, who started at Santa Barbara City College and transferred to and graduated from UCLA with a perfect GPA. She also studied for the MCAT on her own and scored in the 99 percentile. She will go over the skills and tools she used to succeed.
About the Speaker:
Madeleine Babb has always dreamed of pursuing a career in medicine; however, her less-than-ideal grades in high school almost prevented her from achieving this dream. After graduation, she took classes at Ventura College with the goal of becoming an elementary school teacher but she soon realized that medicine remained her true passion. She then enrolled at Santa Barbara City College(SBCC). At SBCC, Madeleine finally learned how to study effectively and earned numerous academic awards such as Outstanding Student in Biological Sciences and Student of the Year in Organic Chemistry. She also served as a Tutor for Biology and Precalculus Classes. In 2019, Madeleine transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology and a minor in Society and Genetics. She recently took the MCAT and is currently working as a Mohs Surgery Histotechnician before applying to medical school in the 2022-23 application cycle.
