Dr. Anwar is originally from Baghdad, Iraq and came to the US as a refugee. She started taking ESL and science courses at American River College in Sacramento, CA. She transferred to the University of California, Davis where she majored in neurobiology, physiology and Behavior. She then completed a Master’s program in Biomedical sciences at Midwestern University. Dr. Anwar earned her medical degree at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency training at Mountain Vista Medical Center. She then completed her Fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Banner University Medical Center-phoenix. Dr. Anwar has particular interest in patients in critical care setting and End of life care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, spinning, listening to audible books, and drinking her coffee.
