Workshop Description:
Are you struggling with mental health challenges? Are you first-gen and struggling with imposter syndrome? Are you from an economically disadvantaged backgrounds?
Then you should come and meet with Victor Chew who has struggled with all of them and has overcome all of the struggles and is currently in his third year of medicine. Come and hear his story and ask him questions about how he was able to overcome them.

About the Speaker:
Victor Chew is a 3rd Year Osteopathic Medical Student at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM). He is a first-generation college/medical student from San Francisco and completed his undergraduate education at UC Davis with a degree in Biology.
After college, he worked at CollegeTrack San Francisco, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping underserved high school students gain admission to college. He also completed his Post-Baccalaureate education at San Francisco State University while gaining clinical experience as a medical assistant in orthopedic surgery.
While in medical school, he served on KYCOM’s Diversity and Inclusion committee, helping bring awareness and celebrating the many different ethnicities and cultures at KYCOM.
Victor is passionate about promoting and destigmatizing mental health and addressing medical student burnout. Victor hopes to one day specialize in either Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine.
