Get Involved

Dear PreMedCC Community,

We would like to invite you to join our Leadership Team! Be part of a leading premedical organization for students at community college, university, or post-Baccalaureate programs. Our organization is proud to provide resources to first-generation students, Dreamers, and anyone that does not have a supportive environment or access to pre-med advisors.

PreMedCC is looking for people to help lead the organization and run our virtual events. This is a wonderful opportunity for premedical students to showcase their talents, build their resume, and develop their leadership skills. Our team is remote, with leaders scattered around California, the United States and Canada!

We are currently seeking volunteers to help with promotion, planning, meeting facilitation, and fulfilling the mission of the organization. Job descriptions can be found below. We are looking for volunteers who can dedicate 2-3 hours a week in their respective areas and can commit to PreMedCC for at least six months. Volunteers are also required to attend a weekly Leadership Meeting on Sunday mornings from 9-10am PST.

The selection process is conducted by PreMedCC leadership. After the deadline, we will contact you and invite you to a 15 minute interview with our leadership team. The interviews will be conducted from February 14-22, 2022, which you will be given various days and time blocks to choose from.

FAQ

Do I have to be a Community College (CC) student to participate?

Absolutely not! You do not have to be a CC student. We accept volunteers from all walks of life. Our leadership team includes pre-health students in high school, in community college, in university, or those who have already graduated.

Do I have to live in a specific place?

No, we are 100% remote and anyone in the world is invited to join our team. Our organization functions on the Pacific Standard Time for meetings.

Are meetings mandatory?

We ask volunteers to attend a weekly Leadership Meeting on Sunday mornings from 9am-10am PST. These meetings allow our entire team to work together to plan events and discuss ideas.

Attendance at our Speaker Sessions on Fridays and Saturday is required for members of the Meeting Facilitation Team. Volunteers in the Public Relations Team and Technology Team are not required to attend all Speaker Sessions, but we encourage you to attend. The information given by our speakers will be paramount to your future success in the medical field. Additionally, session participation will give volunteers an opportunity to interact with and learn from physician leaders and deans of admission at top medical schools.

What is the selection process?

We are looking for people that are passionate about their future, want to help others, and can follow through with their commitments to PreMedCC. We also understand that premed students may have busy schedules and unforeseen circumstances may arise, so we appreciate when volunteers maintain open and honest communication.

How should I prepare for the interview?

All you need to do is have Zoom downloaded to your computer and be ready to have a friendly conversation with our team leaders. We want to get to know you and where you are coming from, and what are your plans and aspirations for the future. This is just a conversation in getting to know you, but this is also a chance for you to ask us questions.

What is the time commitment?

We require 2-3 hours of commitment a week and attendance at the weekly leadership meeting. Generally, those who are the most committed gain the greatest rewards. We are seeking dedicated volunteers who are willing to put in the work to develop their leadership and interpersonal skills. However, we are also keenly aware that academics will always come first for premed students!
